Time to create your own wiki!
If you have no experience creating a wiki, you may want to click here: 2009 Lead 3-0 Practice Pages. Use the handout called "Hands-On Activity" and walk yourself through the steps provided there using your personal practice page. Then follow the steps below.
If you have some experience (or just want to jump right in), use the steps listed below along with the handouts provided.
Step 1
Think about a work-related project where using a wiki would make the task easier, more inclusive, etc. How will you use your wiki?
Need some ideas? Here's a link to several videos where educators discuss ways they use wikis.
Step 2
Review the "General Skills and Specifications for a Classroom Wiki Project" handout. You may want to make an outline for laying out your wiki.
This video provides an overview of pbWiki features. Watch it more than once to pick up all the ideas mentioned here.
Click on this link to create your own wiki using the "Create an education wiki using PBwiki" handout.
Allow anyone to view the wiki, but restrict editing rights to people you invite or approve (so others can view it, but don't have editing rights).
Write down your wiki URL and password.
Here is a link to a PBwiki-specific online tutorial, if you want even more help.
Step 3
